The random facts:
- I really DID practice that song Mrs. Wilmoth re-assigned week after week. I just couldn't get it! (took piano lessons for several years in grade school)
- Spent countless hours up a tree. Would sit in the "tree house" (wasn't it really just an old door, or maybe a few boards nailed together?) and read or daydream or "spy" on the neighborhood or make plans in my notebook.
- Didn't have a car until after my freshman year in college. It was a Dodge Coronet.
- I've played donkey basketball.
- I was once kicked by a cow.
- I don't know how to pronounce "meme." Correction: I didn't know how to pronounce "meme" until I looked it up here and here
(I'll make links to you here if you decide to go with this.)
I would have spent hours in the treehouse too had my father let us build one. He was always shagging us out of the maple tree in the front yard. I don't know if he really thought we would break the branches or if he was afraid we would fall out of the tree.
ReplyDelete1. I took piano lessons for probably 10 years!
ReplyDelete6. I didn't know how to pronounce meme, so I thank you for the info.
Nice list. Thank you for sharing!!
I would have loved a tree house. I wish I had one for the kids.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I meant to comment before. I have been really scatterbrained lately. Thanks for doing this meme. I still don't like that word- "meme" I think it is weird.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any of these in common with you. Why did you play donkey basketball? Is that where you play basketball while riding on a donkey?
Yes. That's what we did!
ReplyDeleteIt was during one of my first years teaching. There was some kind of fundraiser, with the faculty being one of the teams. It was fun, but then I was fortunate to NOT be on one of the donkeys that would stop and not budge!
