Out of Season
This poor young apple tree is all confused.
Maybe it was planning to produce its first apples last spring, but then, like all the other fruit trees around, found that impossible because of the badly timed freeze.
So..... last week.... BLOSSOMS! Not very many, but definitely blossoms.
It will be interesting to see what it does next spring and if we get apples from it next year.

Wow! That is something! Blossoms in October?
ReplyDeleteThat is so sad!
ReplyDeleteHmmm... sounds like something I posted last year. (http://justseven.blogspot.com/2006/10/confused.html) I don't know what makes these poor little trees so confused but sometimes I feel like I'm doing the same thing.
ReplyDeleteSure enough, Martha-very similar. I really like the analogy you made on your post. --"I wonder if I am ever like that little tree, trying to do wonderful things that will never amount to anything because it isn't in God's time. Only by doing things in His time can what I do be truly fruitful. Ecc. 3:11"--Thanks for referring back to it.
