Sorry, Stacey, It's Not Red!

I don't think I ever mentioned or showed what carpet we finally decided on this spring. Here Ching is checking it out before we moved the furniture back in. This isn't the greatest photo... mostly it shows vacuum cleaner tracks... but you can see it's much lighter than the "gold tones" carpet we had before. And it's not sculptured... hooray!

Oops-sorry if you have sculptured carpet and like it! : ) But like I said before, our old carpet had done its duty! This sure brightened up the front rooms and hallway, and I love how it feels to walk on it!

  2. I bet the carpet feels good on your toes. I love the built in bookcases. I grew up in a house with them. It looks like you have a bay window too. How old is your house?

  3. Looks like a beautiful old house! I like your new carpet and "sculpted" vacuum cleaner tracks are cool too.

  4. Yes, kim, we have a bay window. I'm not sure how old the house is--maybe from the 1920's. We understand that it was a "mail-order house" from Sears.

  5. Neutral colors for carpet is always good.

There is a cool house in town that is a mail order house from Sears. That's neat.

  6. Yeah, neutral is good for carpet. We have one room in our house where the carpet looks like it could be in a movie theater lobby. So we were a bit limited to colors for the walls.

  8. I've never heard of a mail order house! Does anyone know the background of that? I like the architectural detail in those half walls with stained glass in them.
