Sorry, Stacey, It's Not Red!

I don't think I ever mentioned or showed what carpet we finally decided on this spring. Here Ching is checking it out before we moved the furniture back in. This isn't the greatest photo... mostly it shows vacuum cleaner tracks... but you can see it's much lighter than the "gold tones" carpet we had before. And it's not sculptured... hooray!

Oops-sorry if you have sculptured carpet and like it! : ) But like I said before, our old carpet had done its duty! This sure brightened up the front rooms and hallway, and I love how it feels to walk on it!

You Never Know What You'll See

These are just some of the things that caught my eye during the trip to Oklahoma last week.

And we're off!

T left on her California FCCLA trip this morning.

K has been home from her summer church camp counseling job since Tuesday (Fourth of July break) and goes back in the morning.

I leave in the morning too--headed for Oklahoma with our church youth group on a service trip with YouthWorks!

B and M will hold down the fort here--finishing up the wheat harvest, putting up hay, etc.

Now why didn't I figure out how simple that making links business was before this?

In case anyone is wondering, I did find that lost to-do list a couple of weeks ago. It was, well, uh, it was in the bathroom closet. (she said peevishly, with a slight hint of red on her face!) Isn't that a perfectly logical place for a list?

Sorry no pictures. Need to finish laundry, paying bills, packing, ............ Will update sometime after the trip.

Neighborhood Celebration

We celebrated the Fourth on the 30th. A friend is licensed to use the big fireworks, and puts on quite a show to honor our independence. Sorry I didn't get a photo of the flag flying proudly that evening.

Eenie, meenie, miney, moe

T and I made cake mix cookies the other day. Thanks, gmj, for the simple recipe!
Threw in some mini chocolate chips and some toffee chips in the last batch. Tasty!
